Allan Mathson Hansen, CEO of Nordisk Film, said:
“I have the deepest respect for Mikkel Weider and the results he has created by building Nordisk Games and its strong portfolio of game studios. He is a very skilled and well-liked executive with a true entrepreneurial mindset, and I want to thank him for his great contribution throughout the years.”
“Nordisk Games is in a good position to deliver long-term growth. In the current complex and challenging global environment in which our game studios operate, we believe a change is needed to meet the challenges that we face, consolidate the portfolio, and still capture the opportunities before us. We are therefore in agreement with Mikkel that this is a good time for a change of guard.”
Mikkel Weider said:
“I am proud of what we have achieved in Nordisk Games. In just seven years, we have built a whole new business area and a talented organization within Nordisk Film, added some of Europe’s finest game studios to our family and supported their successful development. I am grateful to my wonderful colleagues and all the great people in the game studios for their support and close collaboration.”
“Having now achieved what we set out to do when Nordisk Games was founded, and considering the tasks that lie ahead, this is the right time for a change. I will be sad to leave but I am also excited about exploring the new opportunities that lies ahead. I am confident that Nordisk Games will continue to thrive in the best possible way.”
A process to find a new CEO for Nordisk Games has now been initiated. During the search period Allan Mathson Hansen will assume the role of interim CEO.
Nordisk Games makes equity investments in European computer game developers and has since 2017 built a high-growth portfolio of game studios with 1,300 highly talented game developers within Avalanche Studios Group, Supermassive Games, Star Stable Entertainment, Flashbulb Games, Mercury Steam and Nitro Games.
